Starbucks - Ames

Today, I placed an order online and, when I went to pick it up, I discovered I was at the wrong location. The barista who assisted me, named Simon, was incredibly helpful and made my drink for me. I really appreciated his support, as well as that of the staff at Lincoln and Clark.

It seems that the coffee is getting weaker, and the selection remains an issue. I might start looking for a place where these problems don't exist.

This is a very comfortable place that I usually love, but I had one unfortunate experience. I ordered a hazelnut macchiato and ended up with three different sauces mixed into my drink. Unfortunately, I have celiac disease, and one of the sauces was caramel, which contains gluten. As a result, I got sick after a few sips. I was puzzled at first, but then I realized what had happened. I understand that the barista was new and mentioned that she needed to learn the recipes.

The staff seems friendly enough. The coffee is decent. The music is...TOO DA**ED LOUD and is absolutely TERRIBLE. This may be the worst music I have ever heard in my life. Forget about talking with your seatmate (mine left as we were shouting to each other in order to be heard over the music much less being able to hear yourself think. Free Wi-fi though while we look for a place to stay in town if I-35 doesn 't reopen soon. Ugh.

OMG I just love this Starbucks. Everybody is so friendly take good care of you always glad to see you first thing in the morning know who you are and know what you want what a great team!! I would like to give a special shout out to one of the best employees at Hy-Vee Britta Heidenreich!! Thank you for treating me so well!! You are fantastic!!
