Perkins Bakery - Ames

I've never had a negative experience at this restaurant. However, I often get the impression that the staff don't enjoy their jobs, which shouldn't be apparent to customers.

Without a doubt, this was the best dinner I've ever had at Perkins. I hadn't been there in years, mostly because my past visits weren't great experiences—mostly due to other people's choices when we were meeting up. However, tonight's choice was made by one of my grandsons, and it turned out to be an excellent decision. The host was welcoming, and our server was fantastic from the very beginning. Even the food was the best I've ever tasted there. I will definitely be returning!

I had a wonderful breakfast experience. There were plenty of options to choose from, and the staff was both friendly and efficient. The portion sizes were generous for the price. I will definitely be returning. Just a note, the little bear isn't on the menu.

Best breakfast I've had in a while. The friendly ambiance in here is great. Immediately when we walked in, it smelled exactly like Perkins. Our waiter was wonderfully warm and very accommodating. I love going to Perkins because as a kid it was in my family's heavy rotation and it's one of the restaurants that hasn't lost the childhood magic.

Food was great, service was okay, our waiter didn't do very well with our drinks.
