Dutch Oven Bakery - Ames

Friday is Family Donut Day at our house. Although we live in Nevada, the goodies at Dutch Oven are totally worth the drive. We love their Dutch Letters, Birds' Eyes, Creme-filled Horns, donut holes, and breakfast sandwiches. Our dog even loves their homemade doggie biscuits. This is a first rate business with delicious baked goods welcoming staff.

Dutch Oven 's decorated cakes are gorgeous. Unlike other 'chain ' bakery 's cakes that all look the same, the Dutch Oven spends extra time decorating with beautiful, unique flowers. The puff pillows and fritters are delicious. The dinner rolls are amazing too. Oh, and don 't overlook the danish. Yum!!!
