Locanda Maria - AMEGLIA

Restaurant for locals offering good quality food done the Italian way, as well as the traditional Pasta/Pizza fare. The fish dish we had was special and delicious, and prepared as a whole fish, just gutted, with vegetables.

I mean other restaurants where access are so easy from the road with the help of pointing signs, people tend to go these places (including us ; we were driving and asked a few places; mostly fully booked or available some of them that didn't convince us; at the end we found this one, plain from the outside with the sign as an inn, open and available... Inside has a nice atmosphere, mostly white, immaculate clean public areas, restaurant nicely set, has a backyard seating with river view if weather permitted... We had one lunch menu (25,00 and ordered some dishes from à la carte; food was very good; I particularly appreciated the fish fry, not the classic fish fry served inland with only squid rings and prawns but complete with different type of fishes (sardines, red mullets, etc. octopus and different types of shellfishes. Took some time the food to arrive on the table (the restaurant was quite empty, only us and 2 more tables , but we were not in any hurry so it was OK for us to wait... An appetizer or starter prices are from 10,00; cover charges 2,00 each person; prices are those average like any other eatery. After meals, we had a walk in this area, Fiumaretta but this area is not appealing like the other side of the river, Bocca di Magra where most restaurants were booked... we are glad that we had lunch in this more calm place...

It was the only restaurant we found in Fiumaretto where we could eat without a reservation. Very kind staff and good service. The Fritto misto di mare was very good.

Ho pernottato due notti in questa locanda. Fiumaretta è una piccola località vicina alla foce del Magra e in 5' si raggiunge la spiaggia. Bella camera pulita e silenziosa. Ottima colazione. I proprietari cordiali e disponibili. La consiglio. Laura

Ottima locanda le porzioni abbondanti e da buon gustai. Le camere confortevoli e abbasta grandi!!
