Bidrage med feedbackWow the food here is REALLY good. I just had a chicken petutu and banana sate. So far one of the best traditional Balinese food I had in Bali and I've been here for 5 years. The view from the restaurant is absolutely stunning.
One of the best places you can choose in Amed. It has just 5 bungalows over the beach, with a beautiful garden in front of them. It feels like almost having you own private beach : Staff is really nice and can help you arrange anything you may need during your stay.
It's a really cool place, super relaxed, cosy bungalows. Would be 5 stars except the check out was a huge let down. Bring cash or be expected to go on a merry dance to alternative hotels to find a machine that works. Usually I'm not too anal about this kind of stuff but the machines had clearly been broken for a long time and the staff were happy to make it my problem.
The Bungalows are very big comfortable and with great view to the sea. Also, great terace for relaxing. But, there is no beach in front of the resort, you have to go in front of the next resort. If you are looking for a nice beach with beach beds and clear water, this is not the place for you. The small beach neaby is full with the locals fishing boats and is good for snorkeling, once you pass the dead coral near the shore and the rocks that are everywhere. I was expecting to enjoy the chill sound of the waves during the night, as other places I’ve stayed and were beach front, but instead it sounded like it was always a big storm, because of the big noise of the waves crashing to the big rocks and the wall the resort is building. And this was happening during good weather. The restaurant is nice, but food is just average. Fresh juices are very good. The service is not great, as the front desk person, that also served the food and all, seemed a bit anoyed some of the time and it was difficult to get along with her and the rest of the staff as they don’t understand basic english. If you don’t have complex demands, you’ll be just fine. Although they have a POS, they say it’s not working and make you pay with cash. So, bring cash or you can fight with them and they will take the POS up the street, where it has signal and it works (I saw some tourist do that . The front desk lady was not happy about it : .
Good location, just on the shore, sound of waves makes staying very atmospheric. And instead of writing about disadvantages I’ll tell our story. When we moved in to our house the fridge was not working. But not a big deal, we can survive without that, so didn’t complain and started settling. The first night was very interesting though. As soon as the light was turned off box of chips that we left on the table suddenly fell off. We thought it’s probably just wind, so didn’t pay attention. After that box of chips started moving around, I’ve turned the flash light on and spotted huge (15-20cm) rat on the couch. We didn’t like the opportunity to share room with rat (even though we like animals) and I went to reception to request another room. After half an hour of google translate conversation with guy on duty (because he spoke zero English) we were allowed to move to another house, where by the way fridge was working fine. Few days before checking out we also found cute mice in the bath. So it’s up to you to judge. Location is very close to the nature, but that was a bit too close for us. Besides that, food in their restaurant is quite bad (if you order more than standard breakfast). Be aware that scooter is the must (can be rented in the hotel) for this location.
