Bidrage med feedbackThe Maple Restaurant has been a beloved spot for Beaver Valley locals since 1963. Tucked away from the main roads, this cozy establishment is especially renowned for its roast beef dinner sandwiches. The entrance is at street level, and there's free parking available across the street. As a smoke-free restaurant, it provides a comfortable dining environment. The men's restroom is situated in the basement. The restaurant accepts both cash and credit cards and offers seating for around 100 guests, with booths in the front area and tables toward the back near the kitchen.
This restaurant is exactly what you would anticipate in a small, struggling rust-belt town. I had the hot roast beef sandwich, which was tender but only lukewarm and lacked flavor. I ended up only eating about half of it.
As for the atmosphere, don't expect much; this is a classic local dive. The staff is friendly and upbeat, providing attentive service that is generally quite quick. It can get busy, so if you're short on time, it's best to go either early or late. They serve dinner until 9 PM. The restaurant has a diner-like appearance, reminiscent of a 1970s remodel where the counter and bar stools were removed. They offer various dinner specials throughout the week, all served with a salad and a potato, and they allow you to substitute for another side. I tried their Friday night fried scallop dinner once, but it wasn't to my liking—the scallops were chewy and lacked sweetness. Most meals range in price from about $5.00 to $14.00, and smoking is no longer permitted.
The hot beef is still the best!
