There were tables and lovely lights strung in the alley if we wanted to eat outside but they also had a table inside We chose outside because it was lovely night ! Our waitress was attentive charming and helped decipher the menu which I found a bit confusing. (Starters cheese plates salads main So we were able to order approximately. We chose the octopus which she recommended and Brussels sprouts my fav ! We shared them and Both were excellent my husband who is not a seafood expert was pleasantly surprised at hip delicious the octopus was and for me the Brussels sprouts were delicious We were going to order a dish when the waitress said told us the special Grilled Bronzino . So we went with that we asked her to split it since we like to share ! The fish was amazing and the both of our portions were ample . We did have wine and the choices were vast and delicious. We thanked them for a wonderful evening and vowed to come back. So yes go and you will enjoy!!!!?. Btw there were No !!!
My family and I love love loved the food and vibe of this restaurant! The server was friendly and the service was quick! She was able to separate our orders into three portions. I had the spinach salad to start, which had strawberry, goat cheese, and candied nuts with balsamic vinaigrette. It was light and delish! My parents had the caesar and I tried a bite. It was so good and unique! Definitely recommend : We also shared the calamari and ricotta apps. Both were standouts, but I found the ricotta to be extra amazing! I loved the calamari too... especially the spicy dipping sauce! Since we did a few courses, I ended with a half portion of the summer cavatelli, which was one of my favorite pasta dishes I have ever had! It had corn, truffle, and goat cheese. The goat cheese was piped on the top, so when you mixed it all together, it was perfection. The half portion was actually pretty large and I had some left over! Definitely a good portion, especially if you do other apps. I loved this restaurant and can't wait to come back! There were so many things on the menu that I would love to try.
I loved this place! I'll be back. The Montepulciano, mushroom toast and beet salad were perfection.
We have been to Dettera many times, great cocktails and wine selection. Delicious food, through when I ordered the duck last time it was tough: it can get super packed and loud. I nice place to Sit by a fire with a flat bread and a glass of wine or sit outside in the warmer months.
Beautiful restaurant stationed on a lovely street in Ambler adjacent to the old Ambler Theater. Exquisite atmosphere if you dine outside and the inside is nothing to frown about either. Now on to the food. Bucatini with Scallops They had two options for this appetizer, small or large size and we opted for the large size to split. This is house made Bucatini which is one of my favorite pasta's and this appetizer did not disappoint. Terrific appetizer and unfortunately it looks like they already have replaced this on the dinner menu with Bucatini with Meatballs in its place : Raspberry Point Oysters Very different, these were prepared with what appears to be a lime sorbet or something of the like frozen in a small pearl shape on the Oysters. I respect the establishment trying out different methods of preparing Oysters but after having two with this flavor blast similar to lime water ice I opted to remove the unique item from the remainder of my portion of the Oysters. Question for the owners, is this the only type of Oysters you offer? May want to offer generic Oysters for those that want the option for traditional Oysters. Mushroom Toast This appetizer was a home run complete with Buffalo Milk Burrata and Black Truffle Aioli accompanied by local mushrooms on Toast. If you do not have a large appetite this appetizer and a glass of wine may be a perfect pick me up and a healthy fun option. Wine Selection I was a bit surprised being a Wine Bar that they did not have more options for Red wines by the glass. I wasn't a fan of the Cab that I had but that's ok as the overall meal I was really happy with. I will have to check the other reviews to see if they have Happy Hour as it does not state on their website but if they offer it I would be inclined to come back here for a beverage and some more of their house made pasta options.
