Mac's Downtown - Alton

We love Mac’s!! The atmosphere, the workers, the food.. it’s all so good! I love to hang out and grab supper with the kids, or do an adult night without the kids! Either way, always guaranteed a great time and experience! Ps.. chicken ceaser salad is the best I’ve ever had!!

Just door dashed lunch to my office and it was phenomenal. the BYOB build your own burger was top notch! Best quality burger I've had around the area.

I have loved Mac’s for years, but they’ve REALLY gone downhill. I’d say 5 out of my last 6 visits were not positive. Most recently, they were out of the special, which is what I went for, so ordered the shrimp dinner instead. I ordered it blackened. The shrimp came out grilled with no seasoning, not even salt/pepper. So I waited an inordinate amount of time for my server to come back and she said she’d come take it off my bill. I wasn’t there to sit and drink water for free, I was there to eat, so she said “You want me to go season them?” Lol no, I don’t want my cold shrimp dusted, I want what I ordered. So she says she’ll have them remake them. Great! Then she comes back with a little appetizer plate and makes me transfer my side onto this little plate so she can dramatically take my dinner plate away and throw the shrimp in the garbage. It was really passive-aggressive and unnecessary. Then she brings me back FIVE little shrimp, barely seasoned. $15 and you’re going to give me five shrimp as a meal? I’m out.

Great food and great service! We had AK today as our waitress. She was wonderful! We will definitely be back soon!

Great food, prices and staff. The $11.99 burger. Anyway they offer. I did hamburger, pulled pork, gyro meat, and bacon with American, provolone, pepper jack, and cheddar. Our server Abby was awesome.
