Bidrage med feedbackIt’s self service whereby you queue up choose your rice side dishes. There’s 2 seating area, air con or non-air con. Non-air con was super hot under the zinc roof in the hot Alor Setar weather. Relatively busy crowd might be hard to find parking during lunch time. Food wise is nothing to shout about. Just hype over Nasi lemak rice where you can add side dishes. Couldn’t taste or smell the fragrance of the coconut in the rice. Chicken was ok, but the beef was chewy small piece for RM7. Overall, consider pricey as average per plate was about RM14 after adding cucumbers, anchovies, egg, etc. not your usual Nasi lemak, more of economy rice version. At least basic Nasi lemak comes with cucumbers, anchovies, egg sambal, while this shop charges for everything.
Tbh I'm not sure what's the selling point of this nasi lemak other than the big celebrities photos on the wall. Find the food bland and the portion is so small with the prices charged. Service is on the slow side as there is only one person handling the orders one by one. Environment is good tho. With air conditioned rooms.
Queue is unnecessary long as each customer takes about 1 minute to serve. 20 people 20 mins wait. I guess long queue means food is great and business is good right? Verdict below. Curry is on the sweet and thick side. Dishes unfortunately was not very fresh.. Chicken was very dry. Fish we ordered was also a bit powdery. Food Taste 6/10 Food freshness 4/10 Pricing 3/10 Customer Service 5/10 Place is only famous due to marketing. Not even nasi Lemak, rice has not coconut smell. It is not that great. There are many other nasi kandar shops in Alor star that will offer even better food and a cheaper price. E.g. yasmeen
Ok only..not the best in town tho. With all the hype its actually just so so for the high price. Can find better nasi kandar anytime else where. The ' 'Hor Ka Sai ' ' really not very good.Served out in style only. Can try but will not crave for it tho.The hor ka sai at kuala kurau (temple hawker) much better. Not the best overall, can try for yourself forget about it. Cheers.P.s. Mutton was quite ok, can try.
I'm from Penang and my perception of this nasi lemak is just mediocre. Sure it's made famous by local television celebrities and influencers but it doesn't live up to the hype. Price 4/10 Taste 5/10 Service 5/10 Ambiance 7/10
