Bidrage med feedbackThe butter croissants at this restaurant are very good, although they may be a bit greasy and not as fluffy as I would like. However, I am no expert when it comes to croissants.
I tried the almond croissant here while on-the-go. It was flaky as expected, but became a bit too sweet towards the end.
I dropped in for a quick breakfast, and it provided just what I was looking for: the basic essentials.
Yesterday my wife and I stepped off the sidewalk of this idillic little Canadian town and into a tiny corner of heaven. On the recommendation of a young girl in a small coffee shop on the road to Almonte, we decided to try this "place with the great pies". We are so glad we did because it was so much more than that. Charming, quaint and friendly come to mind. The owner is a hoot and her staff is very friendly and efficient. Their fare is world class. We enjoyed fresh, handmade quiche, soup, salad, pie & cake. My wife enjoyed the famous butterscotch pie with 20 inch high meringue (slight exaggeration) and I had THE BEST piece of carrot cake on EARTH (no exaggeration). While dining we took up a conversation with a local couple who offered to give us a tour of the town. They even took us into their home for cocktails and great conversation. Typical friendly Canadians and a great day on our vacation.
Super cozy tea room, love the atmosphere. The food was very fresh and delicious. Butterscotch pie was a do not miss!
