Reality good food and service. Nice homemade wine. People are so nice and friendly, speak english. Comming back.

This restaurant was recommended in Donna Wheeler 's excellent 'Pocket Precincts ', and after a couple of days exploring Lisbon I decided to come over to Almada on the Cacilhas Ferry which was cheap, quick and very easy from Cais do Sodrè Metro. The 20 minute walk was a good appetite enhancer (apparently theres an elevator?! And upon entering I was immediately made to feel welcome. The convivial hosts, who speak excellent English, recommended fresh cheese to start and I chose the Rice with Octopus which was SO DELICIOUS. This was accompanied by a lightly sparkling house wine. The restaurant soon filled up with friendly locals around 1:30, one of whom helped me plan the rest of my day. I highly recommend escaping the tourist traps and husle and bustle; this side of the river is beautiful and much quieter. The bill (nb 2 courses and wine came to €14,60. The liquor to match my hair was on the house Do come and try Kurika, you will not be diappointed!

Real delicious Portuguese restaurant across the river. Which is a Nice trip to do! The owner was very friendly. We had bacalhau and delicious squid with prawns. The wine was very nice and the price was also nice :

If you want to get off the beaten path away from all the tourist restaurants at the boat terminal, this is a good local spot. It is worth the 1 km walk
