The George - Allerdale

The room was comfortable, but it was noisy due to shouting in the kitchen and the morning showers were cold. However, considering the cold weather outside, the room was still pleasant. The breakfast was very good. Overall, the rooms were rated a 3, the service a 4, and the location a 4. This hotel is great value for the price.

The restaurant is perfectly situated at the top of the main street. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, and the breakfast was excellent. However, the Lorne sausage and tattie scone could have used more cooking time to crisp them up. Overall, we had a wonderful stay and would definitely come back again. Rooms: 5 Service: 5 Location: 5

We decided to dine at this restaurant on our first night in Keswick, as it was located close to where we were staying and had caught my attention right away. It definitely met my expectations; the cow pie was huge and filled with delicious slow-cooked beef. I couldn't finish it all, so I took the leftovers home in a takeaway box that was kindly offered to me. The bar area had a proper pub atmosphere, and the dining section was spacious and secluded. Both our meals were excellent and reasonably priced, with a good selection of cask ales available. The staff, especially Stanley who served us, were friendly, helpful, and attentive throughout the evening. The other staff members were also great and up for a chat, adding to the overall enjoyable experience. My only small concern was that tips could only be left in cash, which may result in the hard-working staff missing out on tips. However, this seems to be a policy set by the brewery/ownership, and could easily be resolved with some adjustments to the POS system. The food in this pub is extremely tasty, and the service is very quick and friendly. The atmosphere is cosy and warm. Definitely, we'll get back here. Rooms: 5 Service: 5 Location: 5

Bobbed in for Cow pie after an 8 mile hike, recommended by a friend.. Not disappointed, Fantastic dish, enough for two, but there was only one of me so I ate it all. .
