Bidrage med feedbackFood wasn't great one up from frozen really. Had steak pie and the portion was small filled mainly with congealed gravy and 3 small pieces of steak and one lump of fat, and the peas were uncooked. This cost £15.95 and did not warrant the price for the quality of the food can get this sort of thing in Asda for £5! Disappointing as reviews are misleading and was expecting a nice quality meal for what I paid for it. Other diners wanted Sunday dinner but had sold out and everything else seemed to be of limited availability. Sorry but wont be going again.
Fantastic stay, just post Covid lockdown lifting.Lovely owner and her daughter plus great staff make this an amazing family run pub. Rooms are simple but clean, bathrooms enormous! Home cooked food just what you want for a hungry walker. Great start to our journey thank you. Simon, Liz, Dave and Sarah
Such lovely friendly staff! Good traditional food, well cooked Careful Covid measures, but not over intrusive.
My son and I drove over to Burgh on Sands, then on to Bowness for lunch. The mist and drizzle spoilt our chance to admire the views, but at least we had a fine lunch at the Kings Arms. The staff were extremely friendly, very professional and diligent re virus safety, and the meals were excellent. I had fish and chips which came with salad and mushy peas, and my son had steak pie with the same trimmings. Apart from the quality there was plenty of it. My son thought the real ales were decent (not great), and I played safe with Peroni (always good).
We were in Bowness for a week, finishing Hadrian’s Wall and coastal walking. We visited the pub four times, two for drinks and two for great pub grub. Our favourite was the really tasty, traditional chips. Plenty of veggie and vegan choices plus traditional pub grub. The staff were really friendly and helpful.
