Visited Jiggers for a return visit this year. The restaurant seems to have changed hands and we read very mixed reviews but always like to make our own minds up. We booked a table for 3 plus 2 large dogs and asked to be slightly out of the way so the dogs didn’t get in anyone’s way, this was no problem and we were allocated a very nice large table. The waitress was very friendly and efficient nothing was too much trouble and contrary to previous reviews we found the chef busy but pleasant. Food was tasty with large portions and good value for money my daughters said the lasagne was amazing and I thoroughly enjoyed the Cumberland sausage. We would certainly return next time we are in Keswick.
We made a reservation for 7:00pm, but our main courses weren't served until after 8:30pm. The food was delicious and the portions for the fried dishes were generous. However, the salmon dishes were on the smaller side. The restaurant is not very big, so it's recommended to book a table in advance, especially on weekends.
We visited this restaurant on our last day at the campsite and absolutely enjoyed it. We ordered two full English breakfasts, an apple juice, and a pot of tea, and everything was delightful. The service was excellent, and it was a nice touch to be able to see the chef preparing and cooking the food from scratch. The prices were reasonable, and the portions were just right. The atmosphere was charming and peaceful, with nice traditional decor and a lovely view down to the campsite.
