El Sibarita - Alicante

Visited Sunday lunchtime having reserved online .Decided on set menu at 28.50.We were very disappointed with the food in general. A plate of bread is served with a pulpo salad following , this being mainly potato very bland . We then waited 45 minutes for our main plates. One main plate was wrong ..Fish instead of pork .This was quickly rectified .However , the food was generally not good . One main plate, pork with 4 small potatoes several slices of fresh orange my husband's plate , a piece of steak , a small bowl of cold chips 2 slices of grilled pepper .....Not good. In general, very small portions of overpriced , tasteless food that lacks imagination finesse . Certainly not a good representation of Portugese cuisine .My advice , give it a miss .

Arrived to a long wait to be seated despite only 2 occupied tables. Had to demand menus. Got drinks and ordered food. Starters arrived and were OK but as we had nearly finished them we were informed that there would not be any chicken for one hour no explanation just no chicken, so either pork or bacalod so 2 of us ordered the roast pork.Eventually our third starter arrived and when finished we were surprised by a bread delivery. Asked for more butter and one pat arrived by being thrown onto the table from behind me very generous! no attempt to give us clean plates etc so I gave mine to the waiter who was clearing the dishes and was rewarded by new cutlery but no plate. Main courses arrived but no new plate offered but luckily the table behind me was empty so I reached over and got a fresh one.The roast pork was OK but wouldn 't win any prizes and Agi 's cod had 4 or 5 large bones in it. The homemade potato chips won 't win any prizes either.The wine was also ****. All in all it is difficult to even give them one star and it certainly wasn 't worth the 94 euros.I have spent a lot of time over the last 25 years in Portugal and my advice would be if you want good Portuguese food you may want to miss this place and visit Portugal.

For me one of the best places of alicante, flamenco music to the atmosphere, a typical tavern, speciality in Andalusian food (flamenquines, lomo to jerez, fried artichokes. I recommend it in the heart! 10!

Unbelievable food and service, extensive menu attentive staff, amazing steak, 12/10 coming back again tomorrow and the next day and again, waiter was had class patter

Ate lunch here on April 25th and enjoyed the experience. The food was delicious, wait staff and manager were very friendly and so we decided to come back the next evening for dinner. The second visit was very disappointing, the food was mediocre and waiter not very knowledgable. We ordered Cod Fritters, and even though we had them the day before this evening they were not the same. We also ordered the Onion Rings. These came cold, and greasy. We sent them back, and the waiter persuaded us to order the Portuguese Potatoes, which were pretty tasteless. Then the Grilled Cod arrived. This also had very little flavour and was also served with potatoes. By now we’re sick of potatoes!! All in all a very disappointing evening. I’m sorry we went back instead of remembering the nice lunch we had the day before.
