We came to Hummingbird for Alexandria Restaurant week but ended up ordering off their regular menu. I was warned that the food at Hummingbird was subpar but it was an acquaintance's birthday and they chose Hummingbird for Sunday brunch. I wasn't really into the Sunday brunch menu so I got a salad and asked for the dressing on the side which as you can see, didn't happen. It was sworn last Tuesday and we were hungry after a long working day in the area. We almost passed this place, but we were glad we didn't. We were a party of 8 and sat at the corner table with the best views of the water. Service was exceptional for the area. Our waiter was friendly and helpful in the beer and food selection. Had a simple meal in the bar when I was in the store and at the Indigo Hotel. Had a dirty vodka martini and a Caesar salad and later a glass of wine. Bar filled later and the salad was great with juicy good chicken and the bartender was very friendly, and let me take what was left to finish in my room. Nice people, nice restaurant and hotel.
