The River Deck - Albury

Visited for dinner on 22/07/17 was hesitant when I noted the prices however was looking forward to a great experience.Ordered the eye fillet steak which was indeed small but tender. Arrived on a plate with a smear of mashed potato and sides dish I ordered was steamed vegetables $8.50.The steamed vegetables consisted of Broccoli and that was it. $37.50 for the steak $8.50 for Broccoli and $16.00 for two schooners of Beer.Over priced indeed and extremely disappointed arrived at 8.00 Pm and only two other tables so I now understand why.

I am from Sydney but have been living in Wagga for placement and just visited Albury for the weekend :) My friend and I chose the River Deck as it was recommended by a local and it was on the river. We just wanted to leave a review to say how beautiful the staff were! They were all so friendly and went the extra mile to make sure we enjoyed our breaky! The location is wonderful, we were able to sit on the deck and admire the Murray river with blankets to keep us warm. I also had the best smashed avo that I've ever tasted.. so definately will be coming back when I find myself down here again.

Firstly, What a beautiful location...right on the edge of the Murray River. FANTASTIC coffee and thank you to the lovely staff for excellent service and to chef Blake for perfectly cooked poached eggs! Perfect place for breakfast on a very quick stop in Albury.

This place is at a beautiful spot close to the Murray river. It is usually very busy and unless you book, you may not get in, especially on Sunday morning. The food and coffee is usually good but be prepared to pay a lot for it.

Felt that it was odd to find fine dining by the river where families congregate with their kids. Very expensive with sophisticated food that limits the clientele. I was disappointed as this was the only option I had for a quick lunch that turned out to be a very expensive juggling act between price and food that I would eat for lunch! In the end I went with chips which were nothing special and my lunch companion had soup which they didn't finish! Probably good for retirees not wanting to be surrounded by children but even then I question the menu.
