Huon Hill Tavern Wodonga

We had a fantastic meal at this restaurant. It was a family gathering between Christmas and New Year's. I ordered the wagyu rump while my partner had the chicken breast. It was one of the best meals we've had in quite some time. The service was a 4 out of 5.

Had to settle for 4th choice on the menu even though there were less than 20 people in the dining room and then paid $82 for a plate of ravioli and a bottle of prosecco. Won't be going back any time soon!

My wife and I were staying at the Quest apartments, a 30 second walk away. What we thought was just a pub ended up being so much more. The Kangaroo fillet was fantastic, my wife had the Turf and Turf, which was lobster ravioli with Australian tiger prawns, also amazeballs as I am told. We are in town overnight from Sydney, this sort of fare would be twice the price in the big smoke. A la carte dining at pub prices, would recommend. This was the worst meal I have ever had. The service was extremely slow, taking over 1 hour to receive our food even though the restaurant was not busy - there were only 3 other tables besides ours. We ordered the rump steak, but it was the smallest steak I have ever seen. It was so small that it looked like it had been cut into 4 pieces, as if it came from the smallest cattle in history. The steak was overcooked, and when we asked to swap the grass salad for chips, they refused and even included a bonus dog bone of marrow with the meal. To make matters worse, it was also the most expensive steak I have ever had, with a $49 price tag and an additional $8 charge for chips. I would not recommend this place to anyone - make sure to read the menu before booking. This was the most disappointing meal, and the staff's sarcasm at the end of our meal was the final straw. I couldn't leave fast enough and will never go back. Service: 1 star.

Dinner tonight, maximum 3 by Sydney standards. Only tbone $55) was good. Pork, fish, goat were all avg. Waitress could have been more pleasant. Noted pork servings were lacking just too much mash). Below avg pub meal except tbone, very good.
