Bidrage med feedbackIn Portugal it’s pretty hard if you’re vegan. Popped in here when I walked past as there appeared to be quite a few vegan options. The food was lovely and very reasonably priced. Only a small little restaurant but the staff very friendly and enjoyed our time, so much so we went three times!
We were here group of 12, Portuguese stake was lovely. We all are enjoyed our meals, and lovely witeres too.
Went for a late lunch to Lucky Friends. It was nice out so I sat on the patio. It was your typical patio on the strip which is open to the street so if you like people watching it was excellent. The patio was empty so I had a choice of seats. I think there was only one server on duty (because it was between the lunch and supper rushes), but she was very good and very attentive without being intrusive. I ordered the Nachos with Chili and Cheese. I also ordered Onions Rings, plus Salsa as a side. Every thing came out fairly quickly and hot. I have to admit they were not like the Nachos I am used to in North America. There were no olives, chilies, or another ingredients you find on Tex-Mex Nachos. But when in Rome.... The cheese and chili comes in a separate bowl from the tortilla chips. I suppose I could have just poured the cheese sauce over the chips, but I used it as a dipping sauce. The cheese and chili was very good. I thought the chili could have used a little more meat and spice. I don't know what cheese they use in Portugal, but it melts very well and along with the chili gave the sauce a really nice taste. The tortillas chips were fresh and crisp. The side of salsa was very good and added a little kick to the dish. I left the onion rings for last because they were among some of the best I have ever had. The batter was nice and crispy, not greasy at all and you can bite in to the ring and not pull the whole tasty onion out of the ring. The real kicker was the garlic dipping sauce (hint: lots of garlic) which elevated the onion rings to a whole new level. All said a great meal, and given the chance I would definitely return to Lucky Friends.
I had vegetarian fajitas and they were lovely. Service is a bit slow and forgetful but the place was very busy.
