My son and I visited the bakery for the first time today. We got there at 10:30 and discovered that we were too late for breakfast and too early for lunch--which is fair. BUT when someone working in the kitchen overheard us, they said they would be happy to make us a breakfast sandwich. So kind!! Everything was homemade from the biscuit to the eggs (both of which were excellent). I got some goodies to take home, and they, too, are outstanding! The orange/chocolate cookie was good, the apple caramel muffin was great (super moist, light, and tender), but the pineapple fritter was OUT OF THIS WORLD!!! I am a lover of apple fritters, so I had to try it. It wasn't that the pineapple made it great--you could have put anything in this thing and it would be great. The fritter itself was the lightest, crispiest, tenderest I've ever eaten. Sweet but not cloying. Simply perfect. The service was outstanding from everyone there. The restaurant itself is comfortable, cheery, and spotless. And the prices were very affordable, too! This will be our new go-to spot in Albion.
