Relais d'Auvergne - Albi

But they're wrong! It's been 8 years since we lived in this pretty corner of France, so on our holiday visit this week, we were so glad to see that Relais D'Auvergne is still going. Absolutely nothing has changed and I mean that in a... good way! As a relay, the car park is always full of truckers who dip for a damn good lunch or dinner. Don't stop, the atmosphere is beautiful. We made a quick dinner in our first night. There are 6 courses, yes 6 with wine and coffee for 14 Euro pp. The soup was this evening (then goodness as it was 38 degrees outside) but the melon was brilliant, followed by a large charcuterie plate with Gherkins. Main was chicken leg and chips followed by very good cheese all accompanied by land wine directly from the refrigerator. There was also dessert, but we were too full. There are a number of choices of main or other items on the a la carte. The service is fast and with a smile. These places just fall away, so stop there and keep this. We hope we can't wait 8 years before our return. Thanks

Well, if you're a Weary trucker on the street south of Caussade, this is the place to go. You can park, shave, shower, head down and have the most decent meal you can get north of Toulouse. IF, on the other hand, you are not a truck, but you travel through the wonderful landscape of this part of France and you feel like a lunch that hard to beat anywhere in 200 km from Caussade, that is the place for you. It has three seats for the truckers, one for office workers and the last and most comfortable for the rest... We have eaten in all three areas and enjoyed them all equally. Here's the low point. SIX yes SIX courses plus wine and coffee, 13.50 Euro Melon a soup two charcuterie three main course four cheese board five dessert Six All prepared 'in house' and a very good standard, leave it if it was good, the parking space would be empty and at noon, it is never! Service is fast and with a smile from the very helpful waiters. There are places like these that disappear quickly in France, so treat yourself and yours on the real thing, even if you're not a trucker and if you see Eddy, tell him I sent you!

Was in this restaurant several times over the years and never had a bad meal. It is an excellent value at 13.50 euros. This week we had soup, lingerie with melon followed by very tasty steak

Repas sans chichis et comme à la maison. On est pas dans la grande cuisine mais dans la simplicité aussi bien dans l'accueil, que dans les produits. De la quantité pour les grands mangeurs, copieux et correct, sans plus. Décoration un peu rustre, le cadre n'est pas des plus jolis. En résumé c'est un restaurant routier.

Juste impressionné par l'encombrement du parking,je me suis décidé de faire une petite pose déjeuner. Bonne ambiance de routier ,sans chichi et très belle proposition du menu du jour.Mention spéciale pour la tête de veau sauce gribiche. Digne des meilleures dans les grands restaurants.Un vin de pays pour accompagner le tout, je garde une bonne impression de ce routier.
