Le Boeuf Saumon - Albi

Taking a lateral street from main square in Albi, we went in this charateristic restaurant with good choice of main dish. The service was good as weel the food quality. We definitely go back.

It was close to our hotel and we enjoyed a cocktail outside before going in for dinner. It is rustic and has a casual and warm ambience. Our meal choices were varieties of meat or salmon dishes. We chose one of each and a very nice wine to accompany. The wait staff were attentive and the food delicious. It was an excellent value! We would recommend it to everyone who visits Albi. JBD

We were drawn to this restaurant by the reviews - and by the fact that it was close to our hotel. What a find! Fantastic food, at a very reasonable price. As for those who complain about the service - I don't know what upset them, but we were very happy with the level of service we received - attentive, but not intrusive, and we didn't feel rushed. Lots more we want to try on the menu, so we will be back.

My husband and I really enjoy this place. We went there prior to having a child (as a couple, with friends, and with family) and go there now with our infant. The hostess is warm and welcoming (and acknowledges that she remembers us!). We usually get the full plates which are about 10 euros and you get a soup, little salad, main course, cheese, bread, and dessert. I usually also get the chocolate fondant which should be ordered at the start of the meal. The restaurant is very family-friendly. They usually place us somewhere where we can park the stroller next to the table. The restaurant is clean and nicely decorated.

A bit of a long, but fun, story.We stopped by this lovely little restaurant, just a short walk from our Air BnB. We chose to sit at one of the outdoor tables since the weather was so nice. We both ordered the formule and (although I honestly can't recall what we ate) we were very pleased with our choices. Dessert was actually amazing! We had this small chocolate tart, the pastry was lovely and the chocolate, firm, like a soft fudge, but it was inside that sealed the deal. Cutting into the tart, out oozed a wonderful caramel. So good. Funny thing then happened. We sat there with our desserts and ordered 2 coffees (we like our coffee with our dessert). So we just sat and chatted, waiting for our coffees before starting dessert. After a bit, the server came by to see if anything was wrong since we were not eating our dessert. We said that we were waiting for our coffee. The lightbulb went on and she immediately brought our coffee. You see, it is customary to have your coffee AFTER, dessert, not at the same time, hence the delay and the confusion. The next night we went elsewhere for dinner but decided to go back to this restaurant to share another chocolate tart. We got there and it was only the owner and her husband and they seemed to be closing up for the night. We explained that we ONLY wanted dessert and she said ok. We sat down and promptly were served our dessert AND our coffees at the same time (she remembered us from the previous night!)Afterwards we sat and chatted with the owners for a bit, wonderful people and they gave us some great tips about what markets to visit in the area. I was so very taken with their hospitality and friendliness and am only sorry I didn't write this sooner. You must go visit!
