The Merchant Tavern - Akron

My wife and I waited an hour for a table for six at dinner tonight. We decided to put our name down and sat in the bar area to wait for our children to join us. When they arrived, the staff told them they couldn't sit at the bar as it was reserved for dinner service. They couldn't even have a cocktail while waiting for their table. The man at the door was very rude and the bartender was not much better. The waiting area was overcrowded and there were no tables or wait staff available. The service was terrible and the quality of the drinks was poor. We will never give this restaurant another penny. It's a shame because the food is good, but the management is lacking.

We love this place, everyone is always friendly. the bartenders make quality drinks and eating is delicious. have been here several times for date night and never disappointed! the atmosphere is great and they always feel welcome. just a good mood.

The food and the bar are excellent. the atmosphere is beautiful. I'm sorry to say. after I have a reservation that I am on the clock. the hostess might not be rude. the speed of their kitchen and server have something to do with the time it takes to get through a meal. I'm just coming back to eat and the big server. I run almost every time I tell myself I have to be out sometime.

This restaurant is superb. The quality of everything was top-notch. The food was delicious and satisfying, the service was efficient and professional, and the ambiance was charming. I definitely plan on returning in the future.

Wow. Everything was amazing! The cocktails were all fantastic. The food was delicious! I ordered a side of their Mac and cheese (so yummy) and I imagine the meal portion with chicken is even better. I also tried the Hell's Fire burger. I enjoy spicy food so I loved it! If you can't handle the heat, I suggest getting the sauce on the side. That's where the real heat comes from. It was definitely hot, but I would order it again and again! We sat at the bar and the staff was attentive, friendly, and provided excellent customer service. I highly recommend this restaurant!
