Le Mardyck - Aire-sur-la-Lys

We visited this restaurant as an unplanned event on Friday night. From arriving the service and quality of the food was faultless. We will definitely return on our next visit. Thank you for such wonderful food and for such a pleasant evening. The best food we had in the last 2 weeks. Thank you

We were trying to find another restaurant that had been recommended to us but could not find it and we came across this fine restaurant. We thought from the outside that it was quiet and possibly no customers on a Thursday at 1.30pm but it was full and we waited for a table.We had the Plate de Jour which was Chicken in a Cheddar sauce with pommes frites, an apple sponge with ice cream and a sauce and coffee and the bill per meal was just over 14 euros. The food was tasty and well cooked. The staff were very helpful and we had no complaints. I would return again.

We were well looked after in an establishment that probably doesn 't get many English tourists. There is a wide selection on offer but i suspect that most is bought in and re heated. . That said it was tasty and there are some 'billy bunter ' sized man course dishes. Good value wine and I discovered a great beer 3 Monts which in a 75cl bottle and at 8.5% proof turns out to be very refreshing and great value. However, the place was packed with locals so they must be doing something right

We went to Aire sur la Lys because of family ties. But had never visited before. We visited on a Sunday and was surprised at the lack of open restaurants, however we espied this one on the way in and gave it a spin. We were informed that we could take our little pooch in with us,so can be classed as dog friendly. I started with escargot my most favourite starter in France, I am far from a food critic but the garlic butter must have been freshly made as the flavour had not permeated the butter and the garlic bit the inside of the mouth, however still enjoyable. My wife had the terrine and was very happy with her choice. I am not going through the whole meal and just to say it was well presented and full of flavour. The prices were very reasonable and the Tarte tartin was to died for. Overall a very pleasant lunch at a reasonable cost, would go again.
