Bidrage med feedbackIt was Easter Monday and the weather was cold and rainy! We were two families looking for a lunch meal along the beach strip in Agropoli and happened upon Casa 28 which we think was actually closed for their own Easter family function but they took us in and boy did they ever! They asked us what we wanted to eat and we said what ever you want to serve us and what you eat so we got the family celebration fare: bruschetta, some bread stuffed w. egg and ham, a soufflé w. a breadcrumb crust, then an artichoke pasta followed by excellent Italien meat sausage and the best fries ever! Oh and in between there was the best marguerita pizza ever! To boot we had their house wine that they make themselves w. their own bare feet even better! Our friends figured it was time to leave and I said oh no no there is dessert coming and you cannot offend the hosts by leaving early! So in came a traditional Easter cake which was also great. Through it all we are toasting with the whole family who are seated beside us. It was truly special and a once in a lifetime experience. A HUGE thank you to Casa 28 and family for an exceptional lunch and family experience!
We went to the restaurant expecting to eat pizza. Our server, Mary, turned out to be the chef. She prepared us meals based on what she had in the kitchen. All ingredients were fresh and local. The first night we devoured 6 different seafood plates the chef prepared for us. The seafood was from a local who fished in a small boat that day. The pasta was so good, the sauces were exceptional, and the presentation was artistic. Best seafood plates we have ever eaten. We went back two more times. One time we had pizza and two seafood plates. On Saturday we had roast chicken legs cooked in the wood burning pizza oven, along with egg plant parmesan and fried zucchini flowers. It was all so delicious. Many locals eat at the restaurant and everyone is greeted as a special guest. Mary elevated the eating experience by being so personable and enthusiastic about her cooking. We had a great time with her sous chef too. Eating at Casa 28 is a once-in-lifetime experience. As I said to Mary at our last meal travelling is all about the wonderful people we met and the delicious food we eat . Looking forward to our next meal at Casa 28!
