Changos Locos - Afton

My girlfriend and I were traveling through Oklahoma when we decided to stop at this Mexican restaurant after hearing great things about it. The food and service were outstanding! I highly recommend trying this place. Everything looked delicious, but I had to go with my favorites: a carne asada taco and a chicken burrito. They were so good that we ended up ordering more to take with us!

The food here is truly fantastic—it's the kind of deliciousness that can really rejuvenate your spirit. However, there is a significant downside: the owner seems uncertain about the hours of operation. Out of my last 6 or 7 attempts to get food, I’ve only been successful once, even when Google indicates they should be open. For example, last week their hours suggested they would be open for dinner, but they weren’t. This week, the hours changed again, indicating a 9 AM opening, yet that wasn’t the case either. It's quite frustrating to arrive or call during posted hours only to find the restaurant closed. If the food wasn’t so exceptional, I likely would have given up by now.

This is the best breakfast burrito I've ever had! It took me back to the delicious Mexican restaurants in the Mission District of San Francisco.

I was in the mood for an early lunch and didn’t want anything too heavy, but I had a craving for something savory. That’s when I remembered a charming little Mexican restaurant called Changos Locos, located just as you enter Monkey Island. I can honestly say this was some of the best Mexican food I've ever had! The breakfast burrito was so delicious that I decided to order the pork belly tacos for lunch, to go, of course. They were amazing! The food tasted incredibly fresh, and I could really savor the sunshine in the vegetables. If you happen to pass by this place on your way to your destination and decide not to stop, you’re really missing out. I promise you’ll enjoy every bite. Happy eating!

First of all, I would gladly give this restaurant more than 5 stars if I could! The food is absolutely incredible. This place has a charming, hole-in-the-wall vibe. While the menu is limited, it features all the classics that everyone loves. The owner prepares the meats fresh every day, which is a rare find these days! You can choose from a selection of available meats to add to your favorite dishes. We both had the chorizo, and it was spot on. I ordered the quesadilla, and my husband had the breakfast burrito—both were delicious! Although I’m not usually a tea drinker, the tea they make from scratch was fantastic! Be sure to stop by and give it a try. You won’t be disappointed!
