Bidrage med feedbackWhen this restaurant first opened, it was popular among students. They served affordable and generously sized noodle crabs and dumplings that were trendy. Although some dishes were a bit oily, I didn't mind and enjoyed them. It got very crowded after 6:30pm, so I always tried to arrive early. It was a popular spot for young people. With stiff competition on Gouger Street, it will be interesting to see how the restaurant manages to survive. You can expect to spend around $15 per person here.
There are many restaurants on Gouger Street, but we stumbled upon one that caught our eye with its sign advertising fresh noodles. Although we probably won't return, we thoroughly enjoyed our meal. We ordered dumplings, spring onion pancakes, beef plate, spicy chicken, and fresh rice noodles. The portions were generous and the food was delicious, especially the dumplings and chicken. The staff was friendly and attentive, and the prices were very reasonable.
Overall, it was okay, and I would definitely go back. The service was inconsistent, as initially they checked on us frequently, but once we ordered, they were nowhere to be found. The standout dish for me was the Salt Pepper Soft Shell Crab, which was absolutely amazing. However, the Knödel was not great. The duck in plum sauce was disappointing because the sauce was overpowering and masked the taste of the duck completely.
This bustling Chinese restaurant has been our favorite for years. Handmade noodles are excellent. Usually we order one of their noodle soups, onion pancakes and dumplings. The prices are excellent at less than $10 for a massive bowl, food quality is excellent, and... the service great. You know that this is a good Chinese restaurant, as it is usually filled with local Asians. They have a huge menu, but we found that the more unusual dishes are too 'foreign' for our taste. You can even buy a cheap wine or beer. For quality and value, we have not found any downtown food that Noodle Kingdom can fit.
This is an amazing restaurant in the smack centre of Gouger St Adelaide City. The hand made noodles at Noodle Kingdom are cooked to perfection in dozens of variety. We picked the Shanghai Noodle which is also known as Shanghai Chinese New Year pasta. We...loved it because it is tasty and it is very 'al dente '. My Italian friends all enjoy the noodles from this little eatery. Tonight I also picked some very unusual dishes such as 'Pig 's Ears ' served in chilly oil. I understand that Vietnamese people also have this dish for Vietnamese New Year. This dish is more than good if you can tolerate the extremely hot chilly. Bitter melon is said to be good for people with diabetes, we were glad to have this an entree. Pan fried dumplings were the winner of the dinner tonight.
