I went in and was asked: "Tea or coffee?" Tea "Black Tea? Green Tea? White Tea?" Black "With milk or without?" Milk "Sugar?" No "Try this" And a jar of the most beautiful smelling tea was produced and the leaves placed in a Bodum plunger, the plunger fllled with hot water and instructions given about how long to let it steep. I was given a tea bowl - not a cup with a handle, but a tea bowl and settled down. There was homemade fruit cake - made that morning by the owners wife - on the counter and this magnificent tea and the cake were served to me for the outrageous sum of $5. $5? How dare they charge me that much when it's worth twice that. Are they mad? The day before I had had a pot of Scottish Breakfast tea at the T-Bar in Rundle Mall. These are people who care about tea, who know tea and who serve it with care. Kappy's serve tea like other places serve wine. And they can talk about it in similar terms. Other than the cake, they don't do food, but do have a sign out the front that says "BYO Meals welcome". They do coffee as well, and I am sure that they do it just as well. But this is a little temple of tea. And you need to get there soon.

Okay so as a disclaimer before this review I have to confess that I am a complete tea nut.
It is a bit dark inside and the atmosphere is not really very alive. The coffee is OK and there are some tables outside.
Cosy little coffee bar. Nice spacious (but not cavernous) back eating/drinking area. Carpeted so no horrible cafe clanging echoes. Nice timber bookshelves along one wall, nice artwork hung on the others. Soft lighting in halogens... Not energy saving fluros. Sit at tables, no couches or arm chairs which is a shame, because these would be lovely, especially in winter. Nice coffee too. Generally just a cute, unflashy cafe. Nice to meet and have a catch up.
