Cowandilla Charcoal Chicken - Adelaide

If you're looking for an affordable and hearty meal, this restaurant is the perfect choice. The salads are excellent, but I suspect that's not the main attraction for most diners. During my last visit, I ordered a yiros meal, which included a can of soda and an enormous serving of chips (far more than I could finish). My friend opted for a seafood pack that was at least twice the size of what you'd find at other places. It’s a great spot for a casual lunch with friends.

The portions are generous, and the chips are great. For just $9.90, you get two large pieces of fish along with chips, lemons, and tartar sauce—what a deal! The roast pack is impressive and abundant. There are plenty of options for salads and prepared dishes. However, the roast chickens are a bit bland, although I appreciate that they use charcoal for roasting.

The charcoal chicken here is fantastic, along with all the classic side dishes you'd expect from a chicken shop. It's the only charcoal chicken spot in the area, which explains its popularity. They also offer catering services.

Service was friendly. Chicken was divine, moist, crisp and cooked to perfection. Also ordered a piece of grilled fish to try- was not disappointed, great size and tasty. Chips are amazing. Worth a visit and has become a local fave.

Best Schnitzel packs... Make sure your hungry because they're big! I dropped a star because I think their chickens could be cooked a bit more for my liking. Great shop though. I'm in my 40's and used to visit this gem of a take away shop with my grandma when I was about 7 or 8 years old. One thing I can never work out about the shop is the clock on the wall ...
