Bidrage med feedbackThis is a traditional small restaurant with unfortunately too many meaty dishes. But their specialty is totally vegan: fire oven baked farinata, a typical chickpea flour cake, cooked with salt and rosemary. They also have some vegetable dishes, and a lemon sorbet as dessert.
Being a tourist I was really looking forward to trying some traditional food from the Acqui region. My Nonna is from this area and I was looking forward to tasting all the foods she has raved about for so many years. Antica was cheap but not even worth the price. Very bland food and small portions just thrown onto the plate. The white wine was warm and so was the beer. We unfortunately couldn't finish our second course because of the poor and inedible ingredients. To top off the night the waitresses were very unprofessional. One of the waitress didnt have clothes that fit her and decided to show of her black g-string as part of the nights entertainment. I have never written a review on tripadvisor, but I couldn't let this restaurant get away with this.
Highly recommended great to have different local food, always full. Antica Osteria Da Bigat Open 1885. so have to have local pancake! 29 april 2013
We have eaten at this establishment several times and every time have the feeling that perhaps we were there on the wrong day as friends continue to recommend this eatery but we would not and probably won't return. The lunch menu we had last time was not good value and the food very ordinary. One of us had only a plate of pasta and the other the pasta plus a second of veal served without vegetables or salad. The included wine was very ordinary so much so that neither of us did more than taste it. By the time one added in the cost of one dessert (we shared it) plus the cover charge and one coffee it came to more than Euro 28 which seemed excessive particulary given that most places have a fixed lunch menu for Euro 10 which includes usually the cover charge and coffee and sometimes a dessert.
Tavern where you eat Ligurian and Piedmont dishes. fast in service and excellent value for money. I ate the Ligurian and vegetable stuffed cakes with a flour baked in the wood oven, not greased and digetibilusdima. I highly recommend a visit.
