Bidrage med feedbackVisiting Abilene for the day with a friend and brought me to this hole in the wall restaurant, I will admit these are the best places to eat at. We beat the lunch crowd for a Sunday, food was so good and the staff was friendly. They even have a cozy patio for days like today, cool and sunny. Will definitely be back if I’m in the area.
El Fenix Cafe is like an oasis in Abilene. Their meals and recipes are always consistent and even if their waitresses change over time, it is always a fresh smiling face waiting to serve. I've eaten here since I first discovered this place almost ten years ago. It's no wonder why they've stayed successful for all of this time. They have a lot of history and it's family owned, you can taste their authenticity in their dishes. I recommend this place for anyone looking for great food in a nice atmosphere. It can get pretty busy at times, especially Sundays, but on quiet nights, it is an amazing experience...but I guess that depends on your date also ;D Thank you El Fenix!!! I hope you guys stay here forever. VIVA!!!
Really good place to eat authentic Mexican food. The chili releno is fantastic. The enchiladas are extremely good. I have not tried anything bad. I don't think the tortillas are made there but they are still good. The prices are very fair. The guacamole is fresh and very good.
This was our second time the first time was great we had breakfast outside. We had a greater waiter. The second time not so great the waitress sat us in a very tight corner table next to the napkins and other supplies area. She got all our order wrong and only brought part of the order at different times. We also told her what we wanted ahead of time so it would come with the meal. Other than that the food was great. We had travel 275 miles out of the way to have the same experience as the first time.
No fountain drinks. Carne guisada is like a beef stew. Place is run down. Not a good place over all. Sorry.
