The Mains Of Drum - Aberdeen

Ordering our food was easy. However paying for it was frustrating as I was 2nd in the queue at the till and the person in front of me was waiting for three coffees to be prepared and it took forever! Problem was only one staff member was serving and no one came to his assistance. Meanwhile the queue was growing (8 people waiting now). The supervisor should have seen the problem and opened up the other till so that those waiting to pay could be processed quickly. Very slow service!

Good range of options. Home made soup (roast vegetable) was delicious.

Everything worked well. Booking in to the restaurant was friendly and easy. We had a really suitable table and the strawberry tarts were delicious. All staff we had dealings with were helpful and friendly. Covid restrictions were observed in an unobtrusive way. All in all a very positive experience .

We stumbled upon Mains of Drum by chance while visiting Crathes Castle. We were on our way to Aberdeen for lunch when we passed by and decided to stop instead. Making a reservation was effortless, and we didn't have to wait long, which allowed us some time to explore the charming shopping area nearby. We ordered soup and sandwiches, both of which were delightful and freshly prepared. The staff were friendly and well-organized, clearly explaining the ordering process. We had a wonderful experience and look forward to returning soon!
