Hotel-Restaurant Zur Heide - Aachen

We've been in this restaurant two times. the first time was in february 2015 and we had the luck to have found it on the evening they had a fishbuffet. it was excellent! the waiter was the flat image of ron howard 'oppy taylor' when ron was in his twenties. recently we found ourselves again in the same way and turned us on the way to the hotel restaurant. When we arrived at dinner, the owner just wanted to bring us to our table when oppy came to us and said, "more like last time." Well, that was a premiere. we were only once in this restaurant, and that about eight months ago, and he remembered us and what table we had sat on. amazing. Anyway, we ordered the fresh muscheln a la crème as an appetizer (generally served as a main dish) that we shared. it was excellent! we should have ordered two muddles as a lead. we didn't do it because we wanted to try the jagger schnitzel - we were not in Germany during the holidays and were really looking for authentic German food. unfortunately the jaggerschnitzel were not so good. the sauce was quite dark; we are used to seeing jagger carving with a lighter sauce. the sauce was also very salty. the carvings themselves look as if they had not been properly panned, as if the carvings had hardly touched the eggs. to be fair, we had divided ourselves a large portion of a whistle, and perhaps therefore our criticism at the main court would have been a bit stronger than it would have been otherwise. this is a wonderful restaurant and service could not be better. it is also cheap. If we could have given 4 1/2, we would have done it. it stands on our list of places we can always return to. next time, we won't order so much.

The restaurant belongs to the hotel and has on the back a noce garden with a wood-fired stone oven. traditional German dishes. art of good quality to reasonable praise. friendly staff. taste the lamb shoulder with rosemary and with speck wrapped green beans, delicious and they get a huge portion.

I thought this would be a nice little neighboring restaurant with carving and pommes - it was so much more. a competent and friendly staff, a very nice wine card and an excellent menu ensure a very pleasant evening. Although it was quite full, the service was excellent, the food was well prepared and well presented (they even created a very rare steak).

Friendly and English-speaking staff and a beautiful restaurant. eat tasty and plentiful. would go back there.

I booked this hotel based on the reviews of previous travellers.Our standard room was very well equipped, providing enough space to hang your clothing and good lighting for reading. The bathroom was light and spacious with an excellent shower. Luckily I had asked for a quiet room, as the hotel is situated on the road to the motorway. We had our evening meal in the packed restaurant (Saturday night) and we were extremely impressed by the well-trained staff, always attentive but never intrusive. The food was also good. Overall we enjoyed our stay so much that we also booked the hotel for our return journey a week later.
