On Sunday, June 26, my hunger led me to a restaurant in Minamata City that I found through a search. The restaurant, called "Napoleon," was a longstanding favorite among the locals. The display at the entrance was filled with a variety of Western dishes, which got me excited. Stepping inside, the retro atmosphere truly made it feel like an old-fashioned establishment. I ordered the "A lunch set (¥1,100)" which included hamburger, shrimp fry, and white fish meuniere, along with rice, soup, and a drink. The dishes, including the hamburger with demi-glace sauce, were delicious. My wife ordered the "Grilled Chicken Set (¥1,100)," my daughter had the "Stamina Steak Donburi (¥1,320)," and our friend chose the "Scallop Fry Set (¥1,100)." We all enjoyed our meals together. The prices were reasonable, and the quality of the food truly lived up to the reputation of this longstanding Minamata restaurant. It was a very delicious experience.

This restaurant in a traditional town offers a menu mainly focused on Western cuisine. The affordable lunch set can be ordered even in the evening. The wagyu hamburger had a solid texture and was delicious.

I visited the Minamata Ecopark in April 2021 to see the roses, and was introduced to this Western-style restaurant in Minamata by a friend when I was on a hot spring tour in the Ashikita area. The exterior of the restaurant exudes a Showa-era charm, and the interior has a classic atmosphere. The dishes that were served after ordering were all visually appealing and whetted my appetite. Of course, they were also very delicious. I had the A Lunch for 1,100 yen and the Katsu Curry for 790 yen.

前回、水俣を訪れた時に前を通り気になっていたレストランです。 まず、懐かしい感じの外観がいいですね。 ランチ時に行きましたが、メニューがたくさんあり迷いましたが、Aランチにしました。 まずスープで、メインはサラダとエビフライ１本と小さめハンバーグ、白身魚のソテーがひと皿に盛られていました。それにライス。食後にコーヒーもついていて満足です。 連れの煮込みハンバーグセットも美味しそうでした。 丸っこいハンバーグの中にチーズも入っていて、とろーりと出てきてました。 ホールは男性が一人でされていましたが、接客も気持ち良く、感染対策もしっかりされていました。 ごちそうさまでした。
