Neama's Egyptian Food - York

Service was fast, food was fantastic, drinks were very good. I've never had Egyptian food before, but I suggest everyone try it. Chicken was very juicy, vegetables were fresh, bashamel (like a lasagna) was perfectly cooked, and the kofta (seasoned ground beef sticks) were very flavorful and juicy.

The koshary was bland without flavor. The gyro meat was the oddest consistency, as if a slice of Kofta had been preformed, nit like any gyro meat I'dever experienced. The rice had bits of vermicelli in it was dry also had no flavor. The lettuce was odd, maybe it was old /or unwashed. I was looking forward to the flavors I'd tasted on a visit to Cairo was very disappointed. Don't recommend. Waste of money

Truly a gem. Somebody who loves their craft and makes great homemade food for a great price. Wonderful and delicious.

Visited Neama's on three occasions, but unfortunately, the freshness of the dishes fell short each time. While the kofta had a pleasant flavor, it consistently arrived dry or cold. On the upside, the makrona bashamel was delightful in taste. Owners are very kind and despite my experience with their dishes, I'm tempted to return for a taste of their Egyptian coffee or pastries
