Hechikan - Yokohama

Creative, unique ramen. I went for dinner ~8PM on a Monday. Had no trouble getting a seat. Loved the interior design and ceramics selection. Really displayed the chefs ' attention to detail and creative vision. At the menu 's suggestion, I ordered the three appetizer set and ramen. Each appetizer was great. The standout was the bacon, which had that delectable woody, smoky flavor. The ramen itself was great too. When I was there, the recipe was a sardine-seafood broth. It had a rich, fishy taste of the ocean. It was a smart choice on the chef 's part to serve it as broth and noodles alone, with only a little raw onion as garnish. It really put the stock 's flavor and noodle 's texture front and center. Ordering sake is required here, as well it should be. I ended up ordering two. The house 's sake was crisp and refreshing. I also got the Zanso Hoari Black sake. It is cloudy and opaque. A kind of sake you do not find back home in America. Delicious, worth trying. Overall, very good. I would like to go back to see what the chefs invent next!

Amazingly good fish stock ramen. Owner speaks English, but menu is in Japanese. Generous portions, extra toppings are really large, so be prepared to fill up. Good tunes, nice old school decor. It gets busy at lunch so you might have to wait for a seat to open up but it’s worth it.

Great niboshi ramen, the onions, tender meat and quail eggs really do match the soup but the soul is the amazing soup. It may seem salty but the more you eat it , the more you want to have it!! No sign of thirstyness after finishing the soup, so you know it is pure natural ingredients!! Many thanks for the staff who helped a first timer navigate their system!

Very tasty, good size portions and fair prices. Only 10 seats though and one-in-one out so at peak times you’re likely to have to wait. Beef and spine lobster broths were excellent. Very small outside so easy to miss on the road. Highly recommended!

I always wanted to come here at the lunch time. They have great Ramen noodle with good service. I strongly recommended it!!!
