Bidrage med feedbackVery disappointing, poor quality food and rude, ignorant and arrogant manager. We booked afternoon tea for my wife 's birthday and asked if we could upgrade to a picnic bench. We were told this was fine and would not be a problem. It came it and was underwhelming to say the least. Soup came with no spoons We asked twice for them and they never arrived. By the time somebody came over to check it had gone cold. We were offered extra chips instead! The main problem though was that everyone else who ordered after is git a much better standard of food including better looking sandwiches, pork pie and wraps we didn 't get these. The 'cakes ' we got were dreadful and nothing like the photos or like everyone else got see photo. Manager said it was our fault for ordering late and they shouldn 't really have housed our request! No redund offered and manager was incredibly rude and arrogant via email and just repeated that it was out fault for ordering. Light Ash Farm ruined my wife 's birthday.
A really wonderful afternoon tea to celebrate our friend’s baby shower. The food was delicious and so beautifully presented, the staff were wonderful. Will definitely be going back for similar in the future. Thank you
I Organised a baby shower here for my friend, emailed to book it without issue, asked to be seated in a specific part of the cafe which was facilitated. Opted for the baby shower afternoon tea which was a nice little added touch. The afternoon tea was lovely, I know some people have complained about the lack of savoury items but the sandwiches were enough so we still had plenty of room for all that cake! On the bottom tier there were 4 fingers of ham, egg and tuna (2 fingers each) amounting to a sandwich and a half each. Then some crisps. The ham, egg and tuna were all tasty. On the Second tier was two large pieces of lemon cake which was lovely, two baby shower themed brownie balls, two fruit tarts, two double meringues with cream and two chocolate chip cupcakes. Top tier was the scones. This to us, was plenty to eat and we all had cake left over which we took away. The staff were lovely, the lady came round numerous times checking we were okay and had enough drinks etc. Not sure what people expect for £20pp but I’ve been for numerous afternoon teas and this was one of the best. Lovely setting in a farm with plenty of places to park. I will continue to come back, the food is lovely and the staff are friendly, they try their best to please everyone.
Christmas seems a long time ago, but we received an afternoon tea voucher from my brother and sister in law for Light Ash farm. So today we went ! Waiting for better weather and time off work, lovely rural setting we found the farm no problem and we were met with a smile by a member of staff and we were advised to go through to the cafe and we would be shown our seats.we had booked good idea if your looking to treat yourselves even, a lady showed us to our seats we ordered tea and we were pleasantly surprised to find it was free refills another bonus.after a little wait our afternoon tea arrived wow it looked amazing beautiful fresh sandwiches which my husband announced that the ham was gorgeous! Various fillings. 2 huge slices of carrot cake, chocolate slices, amazing vanilla slices, almond slices, fresh scones with jam and cream. We couldn’t actually finish it but when I asked a take way box was provided. We’ve had quite a few afternoon teas and this scored 10 out of 10 for me believe you me I’m very fussy ! The staff were happy smiley and welcoming and believe you me as someone who has worked in retail for over 40 years it’s not always the case. Thankyou ladies we had a lovely afternoon we will see you again, please don’t hesitate to book breakfast, lunch, coffees wonderful cakes, and of course afternoon tea !
We went to Light Ash cafe this morning for drinks and cake which were quite nice. I queried the bill as it was just over £16 for two hot drinks and two cakes. I was then told my frangipane tart, which tasted overpoweringly of almond essence and not ground almonds as it should have done, was £5.50, and my husband's piece of lemon cake was £6.60. We found these prices far too expensive and will not be returning.
