Bidrage med feedbackDisclaimer: Happy Cow will not allow less than 2 stars as a fully vegetarian business. I do not believe they are based on the products on their menu, but I digress! 10/2/21: This place has the worst wait time of any restaurant I’ve ever been. 90 minutes from order placed and not everything showed up until we were ready to leave another 30 minutes later — A FULL 2 HOURS LATER! The menu needs to state they are simple reheating ConAgra owned brand Gardein products for their mock meats. Why was my $14 Fish-Less Chips and Fries so expensive when the 3 filets I could have bought a pack of 6 for approx $5 at the local market? The plate was also all fries which were sprinkled with sweet spices, making them not savory. My bf’s Protein Burrito was made from Gardein Chick’n Scallopini with vegetables. This is my second time ordering here, both horrible service time, horrible quality. I will not plan to return. Updated from previous review on 2021-11-07
Please get the pakora! So flavorful and fresh, not as heavy as other pakora can be. Also had the split pea soup (omg the caramelized onions! as well as daal lentil soup, perfect comfort food!
This is a cute little spot. We did lunch but I would be really interested in trying their breakfast menu. They were out out sourdough bread which I saw had great reviews, so I got the BLAT on a wrap. I get a little disappointed when I see places using pre-made “mock meats” like Gardein. Unfortunately that was the case for this place. It does look like they do have some other options to avoid this though. The fries we sooo delicious so o definitely recommend getting them. Updated from previous review on 2022-04-14
Red Dot is one of my favorite places to order lunch from. I love how many vegan options they have and that most of their menu can be made vegan. My favorite is the BLAT and the Tikka Masala with soy nuggets. Owners and staff are very friendly and helpful. Some tips: I wouldn’t recommend ordering from them on a whim. Plan it out and expect to wait a while for food, especially on weekends. There have been times where I’ve wanted to order and they couldn’t accommodate an order for at least three hours or more. It does suck having that long of a wait, but I really appreciate that they’re completely transparent and don’t lie about their wait times like many other restaurants. Highly recommend ordering a loaf of sourdough to go if they have it available it’s so good.
We travel through here a lot and always look for veg stops along the way. You have to love a building with vegetarian spelled out on it in giant letters. Two things we should have known: made to order food is not fast (for good and obvious reasons), and portions are massive. The pakora dish was 2 feet long and covered half of our table! We took home more food than we ate, but we started with the blended split pea soup, the best such soup I have ever had. The pakoras have a light non-greasy beautifully-spiced batter with sweet chili sauce on top. The yellow coconut curry was divine, and we got the paratha stuffed bread with potato since they were out of the tofu version. It was huge! The restaurant is connected to a home, it seems, and we saw two gorgeous akita dogs out back when we took a walk along the main street afterwards. Very sweet friendly service too. Small dining area despite a big building but tables out front are plentiful. I wish they would just ditch the dairy and go all vegan and wonder why places like this don't.
