This place is chill, ok. Like seriously, the atmosphere is super chill and inviting. BUT, the service after I got my food was SLOW. Like I asked for a napkin and I didn't get it for like 10 minutes. Other than that, the food was really good, the options are great. Very authentic, well being modern, not western, but modern. Cool stuff on the walls, nice bar, not much really bad. I'd suggest not coming when it's packed because they seem to get overwhelmed, but if you're okay with waiting, it's a great place for a different family dinner. Our party greatly enjoyed our visit to Machete Cocina Mexicana! The restaurant was clean with quick service and amiable staff. Our party got the Mangonada Margarita which was very fresh and well-balanced. We also got the handmade corn quesadilla (veggie) and a specialty taco platter with al pastor, tinga de pollo, and pork belly. The pineapple on the al pastor taco was super fresh and flavorful. The pork belly taco was pleasantly spicy. Great Mexican food for a suburb restaurant. Usually get the fajitas which are some of the best I've had in MN. Love their chips and salsa but to refill the chips is extra (could knock a star for just that honestly cheapest thing they make in a restaurant) Staff here is swing or miss out of the many times I've been here. There's been times were our water was never refilled or had to flag down to order a drink. Atmosphere is decent, but cramped. If you get a table in the middle floor you'll be on top of other ppl. Margaritas here are good. Good enough that somebody who's not big on tequila will have 1 or 2. All in all though would reccomend for good Mexican cuisine.
