Bidrage med feedbackOrdered a chicken burger and it was delicious! Loads of salad, nice flavour and proper chicken breast.heading back now preparing to stop in for breakfast.
We also checked out the souvenir shop, where the lady working there was very friendly. The prices for locally made glassware, jewelry, candles, and other artifacts were quite reasonable. However, the prices in the cafe area were too high. For example, a large jar of local honey cost $15, and 8 shortbread biscuits with jam filling also cost $15. It seems like the shop and cafe may be run by different people, as there was a noticeable difference in value-for-money pricing.
On any given day something might be unavailable… we get that. But to be advised that the Italian Big Breakfast and various other menu items on the website have been unavailable all holiday season, when we’d ridden 77kms specifically for them, is not good enough. When I suggested that perhaps the cafe’s website should reflect that, the disinterested order taker told me that he wasn’t the boss, a fact that would surprise nobody. My idea has little chance of being referred upward to the boss. The Bacon Egg Roll we settled for was as bad as anywhere that doesn’t give a toss about return business; and the so-called coffee, served in a takeaway cup, was unspeakably bad. Sadly, this cafe is a dump. We’ll never go back.
Great little museum here with one of the first commercial espresso machines brought to Australia by italian settlers. The pioneers would be turning in their graves at the coffee being produced at this cafe. Our regular flat whites were extremely weak and the milk scalded. Undrinkable! Food was standard roadhouse packet muffins so don't expect any delicate italian pastries. Very dissapointing given the heritage of the place
You would Think named New Italy cafe, that they would serve great coffee. Nope it was served in a takeaway cup, and tasted like hot milk with 1/4tsp of instant coffee.
