Bidrage med feedbackStarter was disappointing fishcake very bland. Roast beef main course was ok but one minute piece of brocolli 2 juliet carrots and one piece of parsnip accompanied by 3 small roast potatoes would be too small for even a child ! Portions need to be substantially improved before considering returning
We went here today to celebrate mums 91st birthday and all in all is was a good experience but a small criticism that we had was that my beef bourguignon was a rather small portion as was our portions of vegetables and the chips had bits of scraps of potatoes rather than a proper chip. It’s nothing that would stop us going again in the future but it’s a year since we’ve been here and there’s been a decline in the size of portions.
Gorgeous Saturday night meal out! Arrived to a very busy and bustling restaurant with a fab atmosphere for a Saturday night. Shown to our table straight away. Opted for the turkey and broth soup with a warm bread roll followed by the Cajun chicken stir fry both where delicious and would definitely order again. Lots of waiters and waitresses working hard, all very polite and friendly. Can’t wait to return
We booked for Sunday lunch, as we were heading to Haigh Hall for a family walk Arrived and were shown to our table and the service was very fast, as we were soon ordering drinks and then our meal. We all went for the Sunday lunch, roast beef x 2, turkey roast and chicken breast roast The food was superb and has to be one of the best cooked roast beef dinners I have ever had! We all finished our meals and commented how good it was and how we will definitely be returning. Was exceptional value and could see us making this a regular Sunday lunch venue. The staff were all so friendly and helpful too, a credit to the restaurant
What has happened to this once amazing place to eat ?. We’ve been coming here for at least 25 years as a group of friends . This once bustling very reasonably priced restaurant seems to have had its identity changed . We walked in to an empty restaurant which was unusual but it is January . The offer of two courses for £17.95 was very limited but it wasn’t much more if anything , to choose what you wanted . I started with the goats cheese tart , which was very average , just a crust full of chutney with a thin layer of cheese , but it was edible . My main choice was chicken , I was disappointed with the size of the meal , a chicken breast with about 6 mini potatoes and a tiny portion of veg . The food was lovely but the teeniest portion I did mention the problems and received my starter free . My reason for this review is to hopefully let this restaurant know how much the dining experience has changed and was disappointing . It really doesn’t make me want to rush back which is sad as it’s always been a favourite
