Bidrage med feedbackFor more than 25 years, my wife, three adult children, friends, and I have been regularly ordering Indian takeout or dining in at Nardee, a beloved local restaurant. We all love their food and appreciate the attentive service provided by the staff. We hope that Nardee continues to serve delicious Indian cuisine to our community and visitors for many years to come.
Consistently good food and friendly service from a long time customer. The menu is varied and the ambience good.
Nardee is a great little Indian restaurant perched high over the Yarra river in Warrandyte. A warm welcome, good food and friendly service. It is also quiet even when full due to having carpeted floors (so rare nowadays). This means you can actually hold a conversation with your fellow diners without having to yell! Highly recommend.
Thursday night dinner with family. Place had a couple of tables full. Service was slow as there was only one person to hand out food and drinks. Restaurant needs a desperate update so tired and uninspired. Most uncomfortable chairs, very low low lighting. Toilets were dusty and old. Quite cold sitting near the window. Food was a disappointment. Kormas were just like a casserole dish, too much lemon juice not balanced at all. Roti breads were dry. The nicest thing on the menu was the basmati rice and lemon lime bitters. Would I go again? No Would I recommend? No way. I have been spoilt with curries from overseas. This is not a curry house!
We were the only diners on a very hot Tuesday night (outside) so had the place to ourselves. The lamb rogan josh was pretty mild but very flavoursome and just the right serving size for me. The garlic naan had a very brightly coloured garlic topping on it, which I was curious about, it tasted very salty and not at all like fresh garlic. Hubby 's butter chicken was very mild, he felt. Very prompt service, as you 'd expect. I would return to try a dahl, usually my measure of an Indian restaurant.
