Recently, my wife and I stopped at Casa Nostra in Westlake Village during our drive, enticed by its convenient location and stellar ratings. While I can only comment on the salad and the chicken parmigiana we shared, the experience left much to be desired. Opting for a lighter meal, we split a salad featuring mixed greens, which pleasantly met our expectations. However, the same cannot be said for the chicken parmigiana, which regrettably stands out as one of the least satisfying renditions I've encountered. The chicken lacked the freshness one would expect and had a disappointingly rubbery texture. Furthermore, the dish seemed to overcompensate with an excess of cheese, perhaps attempting to mask the subpar taste of the protein. The scarcity of sauce only compounded the lackluster impression. Even the seemingly fail-proof roasted potatoes, a personal favorite, proved to be a letdown. Drenched in oil, each bite was dominated by the overpowering taste of oil, detracting from the potential enjoyment of the side dish. Despite the redeeming quality of the mixed greens salad, the overall experience at Casa Nostra fell short of our expectations. The lackluster performance of a staple Italian dish, the chicken parmigiana, leaves me hesitant to recommend this establishment or consider a return visit. It's unfortunate that a premier dish did not live up to the standards one would anticipate from an Italian restaurant.
First off.... very odd entrance because you feel like you are coming into an executive office complex. I went here on Saturday night as they opened at 5 and we had our choice of table anywhere. We were greeted well and the service was excellent but the experience fell short expectations. we were told the menu had been reduced to only the things the do best and it used to be much larger. Good sign. right? NOT!! beef carpaccio with burrata was simply OK. you could tell it was all pre prepared and not freshly sliced. the Mista salad was simply so so. The Carbonara pasta was literally terrible. i have bever been more dissapointed with a carbonara in my life. I almost sent it back but I simply have issues doing that after my ex eife being a server and knowing what they do in the back on your next dish in even thr fanciest of placea sometimes. I at but just a quarter of it. The lamb shank with Rissotto was the most delicious for sure. that was my second choice but felt inwould go with my gut the tiramisu was good. overall, I would come back for the ambiance and service but I would never get the carbonara or carpaccio again and I would try other things for sure. shame that there are such high ratings on this restaurant.
Large caesar salat enough for 2 but dressing needed more season, rather bland. papardelle d’anatra was excellent. lemon cake dessert was ok, but not worth the price. overall a beautiful restaurant with some excellent oriented, some in the necessity of fine tuning. we will come back to give them another round.
