Chef Tam's Underground Cafe

The staff was very friendly and welcoming. The food was absolutely AMAZING- my family loved the taste, the quality, and size of our orders. We ended up eating there twice in a row. Everything we ate was delicious but shrimp and grits hit the spot. This was our first time eating at Chef Tam?s but we will definitely be back!

We had a fun experience at Chef Tam?s this week! She was there and came over to our table to say hello. She also asked if we?d like to try a new appetizer she was contemplating putting on the menu. It was loaded tater tots, and it was very good! We had a party of 10, so we tried quite a few things on the menu. The food was good, and the portions were huge. Chef Tam also took pics with us before we left. Overall very fun experience! The parking is the only thing to take note of. There isn?t much parking unfortunately. We had just come from a tour of Sun Records, and we ended up going back to park over there and walk over to Chef Tam?s to eat.

Great soul food and an amazing atmosphere. The portion size is enormous and luckily you can get a container for the leftovers. I paid for lunch but I could eat dinner with the leftovers. Its the perfect stop when you're going to visit or visited Sun Studio and you're hungry. They take their time preparing the food but its well worth the wait!

Ok not really sure how to rate this review. Lemme say the FOOD is outstanding, which is why I wanted to go since we were so close, and the pics said it all. Staff/Servers super friendly. Zero complaints. Now the Bad. WHO in God?s name has a DJ at 12:30pm on a Saturday blowing out tunes like you were at a Wedding Reception doing the Cha-Cha Slide, The Wobble and Soulja Boy Superman? And lemme say, there was no break either. The subs were thumping in our chest and our ears literally buzzing. The server could not even hear us to take our order and asked the DJ to being it down, which he did for about 3mins. In my opinion I think is being wasted on a daytime DJ. If it were 930pm at night and I had a couple of shots and beers, then yeah. No problem. We could not wait to get our check and get out of there, but again..the FOOD was awesome. My boyfriend brought me here to celebrate our anniversary and it definitely made me feel like I was visiting my grandparents. From the music, the friendly staff, and THE FOOD! Everything was seasoned so good and I had the cutest heart shaped waffles. We will definitely be back soon. To get the full experience I say just go on a weekday opposed to the weekend. That definitely made the experience 10/10
