Haikan - Washington, D.C.

A great discovery, was our first time in the restaurant, but certainly not the last. everyone was so friendly and eating was just delicious, every dish was perfect.

Overall we had a great experience. bartender was attentive, and helpful was eating delicious. against the end of my time, at the bar, I was very discouraged to testify to the Latin male manager at the host state, to stop two [black] women from sitting on the bar while at the same time two other [white] women are sitting in the sitting. this was after the black women were told by the hostess that they could sit there, and that the bar first served. the male manager continued to run behind the women when she sits 're preparation on the seat, and tells them that the first come first serve politics is no longer the case to justify sitting which he prefers. When they were told they could sit there, he didn't care to take them at all. to add insults, we were willing to come earlier from our sitting to do it for both parties, sitting at the bar, and the manager would not allow us either. when the women were understandably upset by the way they were treated, the answer of the man was in order, good, they can go. is this how their management staff is trained to treat paying customers? or does it pay only customers of the color? either the behavior was disgusting and unacceptable, regardless of who is at the receiving end. While I want to come back, I was very disturbed by what I experienced and hesitant to return when there is a chance that I will be met with racism and gatekeeping, based on the one responsible for a given night. in any case something that needs to be addressed.

Great food but server was a super diva who acted like he couldn't be bothered. Left 20% despite the ttitude.

Always love eating here. eating is amazing and the atmosphere is beautiful. the outside area is usually enclosed and heated, so it is still a good experience in the cold weather.

Over all, the food and service was amazing! However, we had made a reservation for outside, but the patio was closed. It shouldn’t have let us make a reservation, because we showed up and we’re told we had to wait 30-40 minutes for a table inside by joining the waitlist.
