South Street Cafe - Waltham

The cafe from the outside is wonderfully inviting with nice porch and plenty of outdoor seating. However, the inside looks like an 80s cafeteria/deli. Minimal decor, and a few rows of long tables and chairs. They sell Dietz and Watson meats and I assume cheeses, but the signs are pretty faded and old looking. Great selection of chips and cold drinks and the coffee station looked like it was still set up for full service even though it was 1:30pm, and there were still several muffins and cookies available. The lady making sandwiches was so kind and when asked what she suggested she looked over at her station and said with excitement “the chicken pesto panini”. It was delicious, but the pesto was mayonnaise based I’m pretty sure, not complaining bc I love mayo, just surprising. She also offered me a sandwich card, 10 punches and you get a free sandwich. Very sweet deal!

I love this place! Their food is amazing and they are so friendly. The deck is my favorite place to eat lunch during my break.

A good spot to have breakfast, very chilling,great sandwich!

Great sandwiches and coffee and overall a very nice place. Would definitely recommend.

Best sandwich I've ever had in my whole life and I didn't even like sandwiches... wow the huh pesto is something else I'll be back atleast once in the week
