Oberwirt - Verano

We spent a couple of weeks in Postal on vacation; because of the heat we took the cableway up to Verano.. very nice area and welcoming people! I was told to go and visit the restaurant Oberwirt and I have to admit the advice was well given indeed! Great food, great hospitality, great atmosphere.. we spent there 1 hour for lunch and two more hours just relaxing in their hammocks, staying on their front porch. I would strongly advise to pay a visit to Oberwirt if you want to enjoy great food and typical Tirolese hospitality!

Small menu with nevertheless a number of attractive dishes. We were very happy with our choice. Playing space for kids provided outside (large) as well as inside (smaller)

We had a delightful dinner on the terrace. The family who owns this inn/restaurant were warm and welcoming. The food was fresh and delicious. I tasted canerdeli for the first time and they are worth the trip to this region alone. The drive to Verano is breath taking and the town is charming.

We had 2 dinners at the Oberwirt in Verano during our one week stay. I started with a soup with two Knödel which was perfect.Then I had boar which was briliantly done. My wife had a beef tenderloin which was a quite big piece and perfectly done. We had a bottle of Lagrein (Kellterei Gries) which was really good as well (bought some bottles of it). The second time I had pork tenderloin which was pretty good as well, while my wife had very nice Pasta. The staff is very nice and helpfull with the choice of wine or food or both. I would definetly go again.
