Cafe Iii Binario - VARENNA

I thought I was the only one having horrible experiences at this Cafe. It turns out so many bad and negative reviews from customers at this place. I 've never made any bad review prior to this, despite sometimes get some unpleasant experiences too. However, this particular shop is an exception as I wanted to validate what others had said about them. Bought a cup of coffee and croissant, it was a cold croissant and served with take it or leave it attitude. Made a cash payment and in return was given lots of two (2) cents of coins, worth in total close to four (4) euros! Yes, you read it right... can imagine how many stack of coins we get from them? Initially inform them politely that it was our last day in Europe and most likely the euros two (2) cents would not serve any values, as such we request to change the mode of payment to credit card. Respond was extremely rude, simply saying NO! and walk away just like that. Explain to them again and suddenly the old lady stood up from her table while holding the newspaper and scorn in Italian. Told her to speak in English, she still continue screaming and yelling in Italian

The sweets are very good. The lunch food was only average, but service was fairly quick, and pleasant outdoor seating while waiting for a train.

This cafe is directly at the railway station. The environment is not nice. The pastries look very attractive, However the price is overly expensive.

We stopped back from the walk to Varenna as we parked in the parking lot adjacent to the station. Beautiful, cozy, clean, housed in the old station. All staff is kind and friendly. Great selection of tea. It offers various choice of pastries, biscuits and chocolates. Possibility to eat. It also sells products of various kinds (biscuits, honey, pasta, etc. .

In October we took the train from mailand to visit bellagio. later and on the day of return we considered a drink at the sick binario in the varenna railway station. the staff was friendly and welcoming and we decided to have dinner. I had baked an aubergine, which was the simplest, freshest and best I ever had; my wife had pasta to shave her. the choices were also very good. this is a small family business with the young neffen who makes a great job as a cook. I recommend a stop here on the way to or from bellagio. j
