Cheshire Cheese Inn - Vancouver

New chef. They have a new chef and the Bison burger is awesome! They are very child friendly, children's menu and colouring. Daily specials for dinner and drinks. They say to always check the bathroom to see how they keep their facilities clean. The bathrooms are clean!

Another nostalgia hit this week with a visit to the venerable Cheshire Cheese Inn. They don't aspire to wow your palate; instead they offer good comfort food that satisfies. Add in exemplary service and Bob's your uncle.

The Cheshire really has the feel of an English pub, and the food matches that. It 's not fancy, it 's not like the gastropubs you may have visited in London this is the type of food that real pubs in real English cities serve up. My wife had the chicken pie with mash. Presentation was basic, but the food was cooked perfectly and tasted great. I had the Cornish pastie with chips and beans. The content wasn 't exactly as a Cornish pastie back home, but it was very tasty and it was massive! We shared a lovely dessert, and the bill was more than reasonable. Service was great throughout. Really friendly without being overbearing. We 'll be back for sure.

Went there on a Sunday night. Might have been an off-night but the food was less than impressive. Its been better in the past so perhaps this was just a singular incident.

Very disappointed with dine out food. Especially seafood pie, not only mention it took more than ½ hour, the mash potatoes was half cold, half warm. The seafood pie was only a few salmon with mash potatoes covered on top, they should have shown salmon pie instead of seafood pie. There wasn't any having dine out menu around us, their food we're look great, especially fish and chips. Would like to go back to try the fish and chips!
