Only popped in for lunch......so tasted and well presented Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

I was disappointed with my experience at this restaurant. When we arrived for our reserved table, the waitress shouted something to us at the door but we couldn't hear her clearly. It turned out she was telling us to sit wherever we wanted, even though our names were on a reserved table. The food was mediocre and did not live up to the reviews we had read. The lack of experience among the waiting staff was evident and made the restaurant feel insincere. We had hoped for a great meal but unfortunately, it was just average and overhyped. Additionally, despite making a reservation for a leisurely afternoon lunch, an hour later the staff were closing up while we still had wine left to finish. Ultimately, our experience was not what we had hoped for.

Once again, we had an amazing evening at Base. Mark and his team provide exceptional customer service and serve delicious food. We opted for the evening tasting menu which was packed with flavor. We both enjoyed the gazpacho, which had a perfect balance of flavors and a hint of heat. The S'mores dessert was also a standout, a fun and messy twist on a classic campfire treat. With Mark in the kitchen and Abi in the front of house, they have created a unbeatable team that never fails to impress. We dine out at many restaurants, but Base always brings us back, whether for a special dinner or a casual lunch.

Rating: 4 stars I had lunch at this restaurant and I would rate the food, service, and atmosphere all as a 4 out of 5. The overall experience was very enjoyable.
